\u201cPeople are generators of sounds and these can be very helpful for medicine,\u201d explains Norberto Naal-Ruiz, a doctoral student at the School of Engineering and Sciences<\/a> at Tec de Monterrey, in an interview with TecScience<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naal-Ruiz is part of a multidisciplinary research group, led by David Ibarra <\/a>and Luz Mar\u00eda Alonso Valerdi<\/a>, from the same school, which specializes in neuroacoustics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a discipline that studies the auditory system and its influence on the functions of the nervous system, such as the brain. One of its many applications is to detect anomalies in the sounds produced by the mouth to diagnose conditions or follow up on treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
