Papers per Faculty<\/strong> and Citation per Paper<\/strong> were two critical indicators that boosted Tec de Monterrey\u2019s standing in the QS World University Rankings: Latin America and The Caribbean 2025<\/strong>. The university now ranks among the Top five institutions in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this edition, Tec improved its overall score from 95.4 to 95.9 (out of 100), maintaining its fourth position in the Latin American rankings<\/strong> and securing second place among private higher education institutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feniosky Pe\u00f1a-Mora<\/a>, Executive Vice President of Research and National Dean of the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tec, emphasizes that reaffirming the university’s position in the 2025 rankings underscores its commitment to academic excellence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe take pride in the fact that, thanks to the efforts of the Tec community, we continue to create knowledge and innovative solutions that transform realities<\/strong>,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rankings were published on October 3 by the British firm QS (Quacquarelli Symonds)<\/a>, which assesses best practices in higher education institutions across Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on four key areas: Research and Discovery, Employability and Outcomes, Learning Experience, and Global Engagement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tec Advances in Research Indicators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the breakdown of the ranking indicators, Tec climbed six spots in the category of Citation per Paper<\/strong>, reaching fifth place in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This indicator measures the average number of citations received by publications indexed in Scopus<\/strong> and serves as an approximation of the impact and quality of the scientific work produced by universities. The evaluation in this category considers citation data over a six-year period starting from 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Tec improved its position by nine spots in the indicator for Papers per Faculty<\/strong>, landing at 152nd place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This metric aims to determine the average number of scientific publications (papers) produced by faculty members and assesses universities’ research productivity<\/strong>. Data is sourced from Scopus, with indexed works validated over a five-year period starting from 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ranking methodology includes five dimensions for analyzing research articles and citations<\/strong>: Engineering and Technology, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Management, Life Sciences and Medicine, and Arts and Humanities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tec de Monterrey in the QS Latin American & Caribbean University Rankings 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This list highlights the top higher education institutions in the region<\/strong>, considering aspects such as research, education, and faculty reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this year\u2019s ranking, the Tec de Monterrey<\/strong> remained the fourth university<\/strong> in Latin America and the Caribbean for the fourth consecutive year<\/strong>, it is also the second among private institutions in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the sixth consecutive year, Tec holds the top spot among Mexican universities<\/strong> in the list, which evaluates 63 institutions across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The institution excelled in three key indicators<\/strong>: Employer Reputation, Citation per Paper, and Academic Reputation, ranking 4th, 5th, and 10th, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
