Adapting to Foreign Companies\u2019 Resilience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pamela Valdez<\/strong>, Director of Productive Chains in Nuevo Le\u00f3n, explained that the state employs a <strong>triple-helix model with industry clusters<\/strong>, where companies from the same sector are concentrated in specific areas and have access to talent trained at local universities, such as Tec de Monterrey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nuevo Le\u00f3n is experiencing one of its most significant industrial expansions, leveraging its proximity to its primary trading partner, the U.S. The state\u2019s focus includes <strong>infrastructure and connectivity development<\/strong>, with new highways, railways, and direct flights to the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supply chains in Nuevo Le\u00f3n have had to adapt to be resilient, she added, as <strong>foreign companies often bring their own values, production lines, and international standards,<\/strong> requiring local companies to meet these benchmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Montes noted that states are attuned to nearshoring needs and are actively exploring solutions, whether by <strong>attracting investment or developing new supply chains.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe need human capital, science, technology, and innovation. Doing It Sustainably<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Genaro Montes<\/strong>, Deputy Secretary of Economic Development for Quer\u00e9taro\u2019s Department of Sustainable Development, underlined <strong>the importance of policies that make companies more productive by prioritizing sustainability and environmental stewardship<\/strong>, such as emissions taxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a government, we faced criticism for implementing this tax. (Photo: Alejandro Salazar \/ TecScience)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Pe\u00f1a-Mora stressed that <strong>public and private sectors<\/strong>, <strong>alongside educational and research institutions<\/strong>, must collaborate to seize this unique opportunity and tackle its challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tec\u2019s 2030 Research Strategy<\/strong> is geared toward building an ecosystem that drives positive impact from lab discoveries, Pe\u00f1a-Mora explained. IAMSM aims to generate <strong>new knowledge and develop sustainable manufacturing technologies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through sustainable manufacturing materials, their goal is to<strong> help meet global consumer demand sustainably<\/strong> and to build a better future for upcoming generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMexico has the advantage of <strong>being the eighth-largest economy with global trade agreements<\/strong>, giving access to over 1,500 million consumers across more than 50 countries.
