This global ranking assesses the impact and quality of universities\u2019 research, as well as their academic and employer reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year, the university climbed seven positions in <strong>Social Sciences &amp; Management<\/strong> to reach 28th place globally; meanwhile, in <strong>Engineering &amp; Technology<\/strong>, it rose 10 spots and now ranks 48th in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, <strong>28 of its disciplines were included in the ranking<\/strong>, with <strong>three placing in the Top 50 of their respective categories<\/strong>, 11 in the Top 100, and 22 within the Top 200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>These results reflect Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey\u2019s commitment to developing leaders capable of transforming their surroundings through an education grounded in research, innovation, and a global outlook.<\/strong> Our goal is to continue strengthening the institutions within our educational group, enabling our graduates to compete at the highest level and expand their impact in Mexico and around the world,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/tec.mx\/en\/about-us\/presidents-office\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">David Garza Salazar<\/a>, executive president of the Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey Educational Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2026 edition of the global ranking, which evaluates universities by subject and is published by the British firm Quacquarelli Symonds, considered <strong>55 individual disciplines across five broad subject areas<\/strong>: Social Sciences &amp; Management, Engineering &amp; Technology, Arts &amp; Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Life Sciences &amp; Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">11 Tec Disciplines Rank in the Top 100 of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 place <strong>11 disciplines from Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey among the top 100 worldwide<\/strong>\u2014one more than in the previous edition\u2014three of which rank within the global Top 50 in their respective categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The university\u2019s standout subjects in the ranking are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Top 50<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Marketing (17th place)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Business &amp; It ranks ninth in Natural Sciences and 11th in both Arts &amp; Humanities and Life Sciences &amp; Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, <strong>eight Tec disciplines lead their respective rankings across Latin America<\/strong>, including Marketing, Business &amp; Management Studies, Accounting &amp; Finance, Statistics &amp; Operational Research, Computer Science &amp; Information Systems, Data Science &amp; Artificial Intelligence, Engineering \u2013 Mechanical, Aeronautical &amp; Manufacturing, and Art &amp; Design. The remaining 20 subjects all fall within the Top 10 of their respective regional rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Mexico, the institution also stands out by ranking first in the same knowledge areas as in Latin America, while placing second in the other three. It likewise holds the number one position in eleven of the disciplines included in the ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tec Climbs Across All Five Subject Areas in the Ranking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to improving its overall standing in Social Sciences &amp; Management (28th place) and Engineering &amp; Technology (48th place), Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey also recorded gains of more than 50 positions in the remaining fields of study. In Arts &amp; Humanities, it rose 63 places to 149th; in Natural Sciences, it climbed 72 spots to 313th; and in Life Sciences &amp; Medicine, it advanced 52 positions to 323rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>This recognition in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 highlights the impact and quality of our research<\/strong>, as well as the international collaboration that drives innovation at Tec. Having 28 disciplines ranked globally is the result of sustained efforts by our academic communities and our commitment to developing talent with a global outlook,\u201d said <a href=\"\/en\/industrial-transformation\/javier-guzman-vp-research-at-tec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Javier Guzm\u00e1n<\/a>, Vice President of Research at Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey\u2019s Educational Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">QS\u2019s methodology for compiling the ranking considers five indicators, with weightings that vary by field and discipline: academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper, the H-index (which reflects the relationship between scientific productivity and impact), and international research network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on these indicators, a score\u2014ranging from 0 to 100\u2014is assigned to determine each subject\u2019s position within its respective ranking and to calculate an overall score for the five broad subject areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year, 6,277 institutions from 166 countries were evaluated, of which 1,912 are included in the global ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Did you find this story interesting?
