{"id":159172,"date":"2023-11-13T23:01:14","date_gmt":"2023-11-13T23:01:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/?p=159172"},"modified":"2025-09-04T12:28:46","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T18:28:46","slug":"diabetec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/biotecnologia\/diabetec\/","title":{"rendered":"DiabeTec: nuevas formas de detectar la diabetes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>La diabetes es la segunda causa de muerte en M\u00e9xico y alrededor de 50% de las personas que lo padecen ni siquiera lo saben. Por eso se considera una enfermedad silenciosa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Debido a sus complicaciones, se trata de un padecimiento costoso. De hecho, el Instituto Nacional de Estad\u00edstica y Geograf\u00eda (INEGI) estima que, en M\u00e9xico, el gasto anual en diabetes es de 17,000 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, los m\u00e9todos convencionales para detectar la diabetes que actualmente se utilizan son intrusivos, pues deben pincharte para sacarte sangre, requieren \u2212forzosamente\u2212 estar en ayunas, esperar dos horas en un consultorio y los periodos de detecci\u00f3n son muy estrechos o muy amplios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De acuerdo con<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/research.tec.mx\/vivo-tec\/display\/PID_17869\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mirna Gonz\u00e1lez<\/a><\/strong>, investigadora del <a href=\"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/tag\/institute-for-obesity-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Institute for Obesity Research<\/a> del Tec de Monterrey, las pruebas de glucosa pueden ser manipuladas, ya que, d\u00edas antes, los pacientes suelen comer de forma sana \u2212muy distinto a su costumbre\u2212 lo que ocasiona resultados distintos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLos m\u00e9todos actuales son invasivos, requieren ayunos, entonces no tenemos un m\u00e9todo que nos permite un <strong>monitoreo intermedio<\/strong>, nosotros proponemos <strong>m\u00e9todos novedosos<\/strong>\u201d, dice Gonz\u00e1lez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-tecscience wp-block-embed-tecscience\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"NW1CCUlAVH\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/biotecnologia\/mirna-gonzalez\/\">Mirna Gonz\u00e1lez: entender c\u00f3mo funcionan las c\u00e9lulas en 3D<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u00abMirna Gonz\u00e1lez: entender c\u00f3mo funcionan las c\u00e9lulas en 3D\u00bb \u2014 TecScience\" src=\"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/biotecnologia\/mirna-gonzalez\/embed\/#?secret=SnDqWWzKIF#?secret=NW1CCUlAVH\" data-secret=\"NW1CCUlAVH\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-diabetec-una-nueva-alternativa\"><strong>DiabeTec, una nueva alternativa<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El primer m\u00e9todo desarrollado por la iniciativa de <strong>DiabeTec<\/strong> es detectar, a trav\u00e9s de la <strong>saliva<\/strong>, la mol\u00e9cula 1,5 Anhidroglucitol (1,5 AHG), la cual es similar a la glucosa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLa diferencia es que en el cuerpo es inversamente proporcional a la glucosa. Entonces, si la persona es diab\u00e9tica, la glucosa es alta y la AHG baja\u201d, explica la cient\u00edfica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para esta investigaci\u00f3n recolectaron muestras de saliva de varias personas, las cuales fueron tratadas para remover el az\u00facar que puede causar interferencia en los estudios. Finalmente, la muestra se ilumina a trav\u00e9s de una luz especial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEl concepto es ofrecer una tecnolog\u00eda que, <strong>sin agujas y sin dolor<\/strong>, no requiere tampoco ayuno, se puede tomar a cualquier hora la muestra. Y as\u00ed saber si el paciente tiene normales de 1,5 AHG. Adem\u00e1s, se tiene menos residuos\u201d, explica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se prev\u00e9, por ejemplo, que este tipo de muestra tenga un costo de 600 pesos y tiene un periodo de detecci\u00f3n de 48 horas a dos semanas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-otras-soluciones-nbsp-nbsp-nbsp-nbsp-nbsp-nbsp-nbsp\"><strong>Otras soluciones&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, el equipo de Gonz\u00e1lez se dio cuenta de que no todos los laboratorios contaban con equipo de luminiscencia, por lo que investigadores han pensado en otras opciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una de estas es la cuantificaci\u00f3n colorim\u00e9trica de muestras de saliva, desarrollada por el investigador EXATEC, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/Alonso-Ornelas-Gonzalez\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alonso Ornelas<\/a>. Esta funciona por medio de una plataforma enzim\u00e1tica, misma que tambi\u00e9n puede detectar, adem\u00e1s del 1,5 AHG, otras mol\u00e9culas como \u00e1cido \u00farico y la galactosa, un az\u00facar simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otra de las formas de detecci\u00f3n que han desarrollado es la colorim\u00e9trica basada en papel, desarrollada por el biom\u00e9dico <strong>Fernando Torres<\/strong>. Se trata de una plataforma <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/divulgacion-ciencia\/microfluidica-y-proteinas\/\" title=\"Microflu\u00eddica: la revoluci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica para identificar y separar prote\u00ednas\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"194\">microflu\u00eddica<\/a>, basada en papel, en la cual se produce un cambio de color cuando la mol\u00e9cula est\u00e1 presente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDespu\u00e9s, nos dimos cuenta que el efecto del PH en la saliva se pasaba por alto, pero que es muy importante, sobre todo cuando trabajamos con enzimas. Necesitamos ver que las muestras est\u00e9n en el PH indicado para que las podamos analizar\u201d, explica Gonz\u00e1lez.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--HubSpot Call-to-Action Code --><span class=\"hs-cta-wrapper\"
