{"id":159633,"date":"2024-01-04T18:37:27","date_gmt":"2024-01-04T18:37:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/?p=159633"},"modified":"2024-12-09T20:33:56","modified_gmt":"2024-12-10T02:33:56","slug":"microplasticos-en-la-leche-humana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/salud\/microplasticos-en-la-leche-humana\/","title":{"rendered":"Los micropl\u00e1sticos en la leche materna: una amenaza desconocida"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Parece que los micropl\u00e1sticos est\u00e1n en todos lados:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC9135010\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> los hemos hallado en suelos, r\u00edos, mares y lagos<\/a>, as\u00ed como en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0304389422011542?casa_token=l2scIKFoOL4AAAAA:t4EEpt14GfNbBdeBRvw_WFJr1kfMNv6FWWpbdIu5BSALgLsAJjLIl8z8NFsCTGGwrGfXdwprbpc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00f3rganos y fluidos humanos<\/a>. Recientemente, incluso han sido detectados en la leche materna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c[En humanos] se detectaron primero en sangre y luego se han ido encontrando en orina, heces y ahora en la leche humana\u201d, dice <a href=\"https:\/\/research.tec.mx\/vivo-tec\/display\/PID_488020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Marcela C\u00e1rdenas Tueme<\/a>, investigadora postdoctoral del <a href=\"https:\/\/tec.mx\/es\/investigacion\/instituto-de-investigacion-sobre-obesidad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n sobre Obesidad<\/a> (IOR) del Tec de Monterrey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En un <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/37597149\/#full-view-affiliation-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">art\u00edculo de revisi\u00f3n<\/a>, un grupo de investigadores, conformado por C\u00e1rdenas Tueme del <a href=\"\/es?s=institute+for+obesity+research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IOR<\/a>, Mario Caba-Flores y Alberto Camacho-Morales de la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Nuevo Le\u00f3n y Carmen Mart\u00ednez-Valenzuela de la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Occidente recopilaron las investigaciones cient\u00edficas realizadas de 2010 a 2023 que se han enfocado en encontrar contaminantes org\u00e1nicos persistentes y micropl\u00e1sticos en la leche materna y sus sustitutos, mejor conocidos como f\u00f3rmula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los contaminantes org\u00e1nicos persistentes son un grupo de mol\u00e9culas qu\u00edmicas que se derivan de actividades industriales y de la agricultura, como los derivados de fertilizantes. Los micropl\u00e1sticos son part\u00edculas de pl\u00e1stico menores a 5 mil\u00edmetros, cuyas formas principales son fragmentos, fibras, pel\u00edculas y espumas de pl\u00e1sticos comunes, como el PET y el polipropileno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En entrevista con <strong><em>TecScience<\/em><\/strong>, C\u00e1rdenas Tueme explica que su presencia en la <a href=\"\/es\/biotecnologia\/beneficios-de-la-leche-materna\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leche materna<\/a> es preocupante pues es la fuente principal de alimento de los reci\u00e9n nacidos y es indispensable para el establecimiento de un sistema inmunol\u00f3gico saludable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Cient\u00edficos detectaron micropl\u00e1sticos en la leche materna\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ATMQ557pA24?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-microplasticos-en-la-leche-humana\">Micropl\u00e1sticos en la leche humana <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En distintos estudios realizados en pa\u00edses como M\u00e9xico, Estados Unidos, Italia, China, Jap\u00f3n, Corea y Noruega se ha encontrado la presencia de contaminantes org\u00e1nicos persistentes y micropl\u00e1sticos tanto en la leche materna como en la f\u00f3rmula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hasta ahora, se ha encontrado que estos contaminantes est\u00e1n m\u00e1s presentes en la leche de aquellas madres que viven en \u00e1reas altamente industrializadas o con una fuerte actividad agr\u00edcola y ganadera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2073-4360\/14\/13\/2700\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">un estudio<\/a> publicado en 2022, se encontr\u00f3 que 26 de 34 muestras de leche materna analizadas ten\u00edan micropl\u00e1sticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para los expertos, la raz\u00f3n principal por la que ahora estamos viendo micropl\u00e1sticos en los rincones m\u00e1s rec\u00f3nditos del mundo y de nuestro cuerpo es porque usamos el pl\u00e1stico para todo: para comer, para beber, para guardar, para transportar, para empaquetar y para hacer ropa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La raz\u00f3n por la que son tan persistentes y pueden llegar tan lejos es por sus propiedades qu\u00edmicas, que evitan que se degraden f\u00e1cilmente y propician que se acumulen, y por sus propiedades f\u00edsicas, son tan peque\u00f1os que pueden ser transportados por el agua y el aire.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para alcanzar la leche materna, su ruta de entrada es principalmente la ingesta: nos los tomamos en agua contaminada, nos los comemos en alimentos contaminados o los inhalamos de aire contaminado.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despu\u00e9s, los que tienen propiedades qu\u00edmicas para solubilizarse en agua o grasa, se acumulan en los tejidos y \u00f3rganos de nuestro cuerpo, alcanzando eventualmente el torrente sangu\u00edneo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El mecanismo exacto por el cual pasan de la sangre a la leche a\u00fan se desconoce. Su presencia en la f\u00f3rmula probablemente se debe a que son producidas en establecimientos industriales que usan los pl\u00e1sticos indiscriminadamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta incertidumbre se debe a que el problema de los micropl\u00e1sticos fue detectado recientemente y a\u00fan faltan protocolos de investigaci\u00f3n estandarizados, as\u00ed como evidencia sobre sus consecuencias en nuestra salud y la del medio ambiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEl problema de los micropl\u00e1sticos en la leche materna y la f\u00f3rmula es muy reciente, a\u00fan no hemos podido descifrar c\u00f3mo es que llegan ah\u00ed\u201d, dice C\u00e1rdenas Tueme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sus-posibles-consecuencias-nbsp\">Sus posibles consecuencias&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hasta el momento, no se sabe con exactitud cu\u00e1les son las consecuencias de que los reci\u00e9n nacidos tomen leche o f\u00f3rmula contaminada con micropl\u00e1sticos, sin embargo, ya se han hecho algunas asociaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre los riesgos que se cree que podr\u00edan presentar est\u00e1n la alteraci\u00f3n de la microbiota, inflamaci\u00f3n intestinal, alteraciones del peso al nacer, una respuesta inmune comprometida, afectaciones al desempe\u00f1o cognitivo y alteraciones endocrinas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTambi\u00e9n podr\u00edamos ver m\u00e1s c\u00f3licos, diarrea, intolerancia a ciertos tipos de f\u00f3rmulas, mayor inflamaci\u00f3n o fiebres m\u00e1s fuertes en los beb\u00e9s\u201d, explica la investigadora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por ahora, mientras la ciencia sigue encontrando evidencia de las consecuencias y la prevalencia de los micropl\u00e1sticos, los investigadores recomiendan tomar algunas medidas de precauci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre ellas est\u00e1n evitar el uso del pl\u00e1stico en medida de lo posible, prefiriendo envases y trastes hechos de vidrio o cer\u00e1mica, ropa hecha de fibras naturales como el algod\u00f3n, reducir el uso de pl\u00e1sticos desechables de un solo uso y de alimentos ultraprocesados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLo m\u00e1s efectivo ser\u00eda monitorear y verdaderamente poner en cintura a todas las industrias que usan pl\u00e1stico indiscriminadamente y contaminan tanto\u201d, expresa C\u00e1rdenas Tueme.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La investigadora recalca que esta informaci\u00f3n no debe ser motivo de alarma, sino que debemos usarla para exigir mejores pr\u00e1cticas por parte de la industria y reducir nuestro uso de pl\u00e1stico siempre que podamos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLo m\u00e1s importante es recordar que la leche materna sigue siendo la mejor comida para el beb\u00e9\u201d, dice, haciendo \u00e9nfasis en que las madres no deben desanimarse de amamantar, sino ejercer una maternidad informada y lo m\u00e1s
