{"id":164069,"date":"2024-05-13T13:27:14","date_gmt":"2024-05-13T19:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/?p=164069"},"modified":"2024-12-12T11:44:52","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T17:44:52","slug":"tormenta-solar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tecscience.tec.mx\/es\/tecnologia\/tormenta-solar\/","title":{"rendered":"Entendiendo las auroras boreales y las tormentas solares"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>La mayor tormenta geomagn\u00e9tica en dos d\u00e9cadas, ocasionada por erupciones solares, provoc\u00f3 deslumbrantes espect\u00e1culos de luces en partes de <strong>Am\u00e9rica Latina durante la noche del viernes, incluida una rara aparici\u00f3n en M\u00e9xico.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Mexicali, a miles de kil\u00f3metros de las regiones \u00e1rticas donde las auroras boreales son comunes, <strong>gradientes de rosa y p\u00farpura iluminaron el cielo nocturno.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los medios locales de Argentina informaron que tonos similares iluminaban el cielo en la ciudad patag\u00f3nica de Ushuaia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 se vieron auroras boreales en M\u00e9xico?\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mm64-kNZAGQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-que-son-las-tormentas-geomagneticas\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 son las tormentas geomagn\u00e9ticas?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Las tormentas geomagn\u00e9ticas se producen cuando <strong>explosiones de plasma y campos magn\u00e9ticos de la corona solar se dirigen a la Tierra<\/strong>, donde pueden desencadenar este tipo de auroras, seg\u00fan la Administraci\u00f3n Nacional Oce\u00e1nica y Atmosf\u00e9rica de Estados Unidos (NOAA, por su siglas en ingl\u00e9s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Robert Steenburgh, Cient\u00edfico espacial de la NOAA, explic\u00f3 que \u201cdurante este periodo del ciclo solar de 11 a\u00f1os, nos acercamos al m\u00e1ximo solar. Hay muchas regiones de manchas solares en el lado del Sol que mira hacia la Tierra\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cada 11 a\u00f1os el campo magn\u00e9tico del sol atraviesa<strong> un ciclo llamado ciclo solar y se invierte por completo<\/strong>, que es cuando alcanza su m\u00e1ximo. Este proceso afecta la superficie del sol y su actividad, lo que genera <strong>una mayor aparici\u00f3n de manchas solares.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta regi\u00f3n que mira m\u00e1s a la Tierra ha estado produciendo muchas de las erupciones solares, particularmente fuertes, y expulsa <strong>una masa de plasma tras otra desde la atm\u00f3sfera solar hacia la Tierra.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cada una de estas masas lleva un campo magn\u00e9tico y puede conectarse al campo magn\u00e9tico de la Tierra. Y cuanto mejor se conecta, <strong>m\u00e1s energ\u00eda se transfiere a nuestra atm\u00f3sfera y se obtienen incre\u00edbles exhibiciones de auroras.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo es inusual, pero lo que hizo que esto fuera emocionante fue que <strong>tuvimos siete (tormentas) seguidas y todav\u00eda se est\u00e1n produciendo.<\/strong> A\u00fan no han terminado.
