Querida Quetzi:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Te escribo desde el futuro, tu futuro. Lo primero que debes saber es que tu sue\u00f1o de ser cient\u00edfica, trabajar en un laboratorio e investigar lo m\u00e1s interesante del mundo, lo has hecho realidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cada libro que has hojeado y todo lo que has aprendido sigue vivo en tu mente, ahora enriquecido con a\u00f1os de nuevos conocimientos. A\u00fan te queda mucho por aprender, y \u00bfadivina qu\u00e9?, todav\u00eda te encanta. Seguimos haciendo experimentos, pero ya no con cosas de la casa que luego mam\u00e1 buscaba y encontraba en desorden. Ahora trabajamos con computadoras, robots, tarjetas electr\u00f3nicas y cables, muchos cables. \u00a1Ah!, y las herramientas que el t\u00edo Pedro nos regal\u00f3, esas las seguimos usando. \u00c9l ya no est\u00e1, pero cumpliste su sue\u00f1o: \u201cun Aguilar con una patente\u201d. De hecho, tienes m\u00e1s de una, y puedes orgullosamente llamarte inventora mexicana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ya no haces experimentos sola o con mam\u00e1. Ahora trabajas con muchas personas que aman hacer preguntas, curiosear y compartir tanto como t\u00fa. Est\u00e1s rodeada de mentes brillantes que aman la ciencia. Ya no eres tan rara en tu entorno y lideras investigaciones con alto impacto social, no solo para la comunidad cient\u00edfica. Has colaborado con expertos de muchas \u00e1reas diferentes, por lo que cada proyecto conjunto ha sido una aventura donde el conocimiento compartido siempre ha sido el eje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Has sido mentoreada por grandes mentes: doctoras apasionadas, l\u00edderes natos y colegas generosos. Te han guiado, aconsejado y apoyado hasta que aprendiste a volar sola. Les tienes un profundo agradecimiento y admiraci\u00f3n. Gracias a ellos, has dado un vuelco a tus ideas y has formulado preguntas de investigaci\u00f3n que se convirtieron en temas para estudiantes brillantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ya no das clases a tu hermana, primas, peluches y al nenuco con ese pizarr\u00f3n negro y gises, ahora es real. Cada estudiante que ha trabajado contigo, ya sea en estancias, tesis de maestr\u00eda o doctorado, ha dejado una huella enorme. Verlos crecer como personas y profesionales te llena de orgullo. Les deseas \u00e9xito y los presumes a donde vas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y lo mejor: no solo eres cient\u00edfica, tambi\u00e9n te casaste con uno. Tu esposo es inteligente, trabajador y apasionado por la tecnolog\u00eda, un gran hombre en todo sentido. Juntos han escrito trabajos, desarrollado proyectos y graduado estudiantes, cada uno en su \u00e1rea: \u00e9l en Realidad Virtual y Mecatr\u00f3nica; t\u00fa en Biom\u00e9dica. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adem\u00e1s de esto, comparten lo m\u00e1s hermosa que les ha pasado: su hija. Ella es pura felicidad, el amor m\u00e1s grande que has sentido. Has experimentado con ella m\u00e1s de lo que pensaste alguna vez; eres feliz y te ha unido m\u00e1s a tu familia. Eres una mam\u00e1 cient\u00edfica, m\u00e1s motivada que nunca para resolver preguntas y construir un mundo donde las mujeres pueden lograrlo todo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Has podido crecer y desarrollarte gracias al apoyo de tu esposo, quien no solo cuida maravillosamente de su beb\u00e9, tambi\u00e9n de ti. Es \u00e9l quien lleva toda la carga mental de la casa, para que t\u00fa puedas llevar la de la beb\u00e9, cuida mucho que no te satures entre ser mam\u00e1 y ser investigadora. Es un gran pap\u00e1, presente, amoroso, cuidadoso que ha cambiado pa\u00f1ales desde el d\u00eda 1, entre muchas otras tareas, y cumpli\u00f3 tu visi\u00f3n de pintar el cuarto de la beb\u00e9 mientras tu ten\u00edas la panza de embarazada m\u00e1s hermosa y grande, usabas un overol y dirig\u00edas toda la operaci\u00f3n desde una mecedora, tal cual como lo pintas en tus dibujos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S\u00ed, peque\u00f1a, somos felices y hemos alcanzado muchas metas, gracias a Dios. Con un esposo, una bebita, dos perritas, un laboratorio de Sistemas Ciberf\u00edsicos Avanzados, alumnos y compa\u00f1eros, te has convertido en cient\u00edfica, inventora, ingeniera, tecn\u00f3loga, maestra, doctora, investigadora, esposa, mam\u00e1, hija, hermana, cu\u00f1ada, t\u00eda, y aprendiz. \u00a1Y lo que falta!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feliz D\u00eda Internacional de la Ni\u00f1a y la Mujer en la Ciencia<\/a>. Sigue haciendo experimentos, leyendo y formulando las preguntas m\u00e1s fascinantes. No pierdas la curiosidad, mi ni\u00f1a. Tienes un mundo por descubrir, m\u00e1s pa\u00edses por visitar, cient\u00edficos por conocer y sonrisas por dar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Rita Quetziquel Fuentes Aguilar<\/strong> es directora interina del Institute of Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing<\/a>, y profesora-investigadora de la Escuela de Ingenier\u00eda y Ciencias, del Tec de Monterrey.
