Devoret, y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agenciasinc.es\/Entrevistas\/Estamos-muy-emocionados-por-haber-construido-un-ordenador-cuantico-que-funciona-bien\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John M. Martinis<\/a>, investigadores de la Universidad de California (Estados Unidos), por la demostraci\u00f3n del efecto t\u00fanel cu\u00e1ntico macrosc\u00f3pico y la cuantizaci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda en un circuito el\u00e9ctrico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una cuesti\u00f3n importante en f\u00edsica es <strong>el tama\u00f1o m\u00e1ximo de un sistema<\/strong> que puede demostrar efectos mec\u00e1nicos cu\u00e1nticos. Los galardonados con el <a href=\"\/es\/tag\/premio-nobel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Premio Nobel<\/a> de este a\u00f1o realizaron experimentos con un circuito el\u00e9ctrico en el que demostraron tanto <strong>el efecto t\u00fanel cu\u00e1ntico como los niveles de energ\u00eda cuantificados<\/strong> en un sistema lo suficientemente grande como para caber en la mano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La mec\u00e1nica cu\u00e1ntica permite que una part\u00edcula atraviese una barrera, utilizando un proceso denominado efecto t\u00fanel. Cuando interviene un gran n\u00famero de part\u00edculas, los efectos de la mec\u00e1nica cu\u00e1ntica suelen ser insignificantes. Los experimentos de los galardonados demostraron que<strong> las propiedades de la mec\u00e1nica cu\u00e1ntica pueden concretarse a escala macrosc\u00f3pica.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Circuito de superconductores<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En 1984 y 1985, John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret y John M. Martinis llevaron a cabo una serie de experimentos con un circuito electr\u00f3nico construido con superconductores, componentes que pueden <strong>conducir la corriente sin resistencia el\u00e9ctrica.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el circuito, los componentes superconductores estaban separados por una fina capa de material no conductor, una configuraci\u00f3n conocida como<strong> uni\u00f3n Josephson.<\/strong> Al refinar y medir todas las diversas propiedades de su circuito, pudieron controlar y explorar los fen\u00f3menos que se produc\u00edan cuando hac\u00edan pasar una corriente a trav\u00e9s de \u00e9l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En conjunto, las part\u00edculas cargadas que se mov\u00edan a trav\u00e9s del superconductor formaban un sistema que se comportaba como si fueran una sola part\u00edcula que llenaba todo el circuito. Este sistema macrosc\u00f3pico similar a una part\u00edcula se encuentra inicialmente en un estado en el que la corriente fluye sin ning\u00fan voltaje. El sistema queda atrapado en este estado, como si estuviera detr\u00e1s de una barrera que no puede atravesar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Comportamiento previsto por la mec\u00e1nica cu\u00e1ntica<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En el experimento, el sistema muestra su car\u00e1cter cu\u00e1ntico al lograr escapar del estado de voltaje cero mediante el efecto t\u00fanel. El cambio de estado del sistema se detecta mediante la aparici\u00f3n de un voltaje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los galardonados tambi\u00e9n pudieron demostrar que el sistema se comporta de la manera prevista por la mec\u00e1nica cu\u00e1ntica: est\u00e1 cuantificado, lo que significa que <strong>solo absorbe o emite cantidades espec\u00edficas de energ\u00eda.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEs maravilloso poder celebrar la forma en que la mec\u00e1nica cu\u00e1ntica centenaria ofrece continuamente nuevas sorpresas. Tambi\u00e9n es enormemente \u00fatil, ya que<strong> la mec\u00e1nica cu\u00e1ntica es la base de toda la tecnolog\u00eda digital<\/strong>\u201d, afirma Olle Eriksson, presidente del Comit\u00e9 Nobel de F\u00edsica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los transistores de los microchips de los ordenadores son un ejemplo de la tecnolog\u00eda cu\u00e1ntica que nos rodea.
