Tec Continues Its Rise in Academic Reputation in QS Rankings

Over the past four years, Tec has climbed 39 positions in the Academic Reputation indicator, which accounts for 30% of the overall evaluation and carries the greatest weight in determining the ranking’s overall standings.

This indicator measures universities’ prestige and recognition within the international academic community. The assessment is based on an annual survey of researchers and professors around the world, who nominate the institutions they consider most outstanding for the quality of their teaching and research.

In this year’s edition, Tec earned a score of 72.7 out of 100 in this category, an increase of 2.8 points compared with last year.

Javier Guzmán, vice president of Research at Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Educational Group, said the institution’s performance in the ranking reflects the progress of a strategy that views research as a cornerstone of academic excellence.

“Research is one of the most important ways a university can make an impact on society. At Tec, we are strengthening a scientific and academic ecosystem that brings together talent, international collaboration, and applied innovation to generate solutions with global impact from Mexico,” Guzmán said.

In addition to its rise in Academic Reputation, the institution improved its scores in three other indicators: Citations per Faculty, International Research Network, and International Students.
